Blog 2: Pinterest

I’m sure everyone now has heard of the platform of Pinterest. To save you a Google search, it’s a platform that uses a “visual discovery engine to findings ideas”. These ideas are limited to different recipes, DIYs, and even room décor. Pinterest has images and videos that sometimes are linked to a third-party website of what exactly you are looking for. Not only do I for personal use such as looking for outfit inspirations based on the weather, different hairstyles, and even tattoo ideas. I also use it for my photography.

Ever since I became a portrait photographer (not too long ago), searching on Pinterest has helped some of my ideas come alive. I am visual, so finding images that represent my idea helps me visualize the outcome. By using Pinterest, I plan out the outfit, the hair and makeup, poses, locations, and even editing styles for after-production.

I have so many ideas for shoots so creating different boards for different shoots, really helps keep me organized. Below is an image of a few of the boards I use.

If you are the type of person that you have to actually visualize your work first, Pinterest is one platform that I feel is the best way to see your ideas come alive. The number one thing I like the most about creating different boards, there are no limitations as to how many you can create (I have 26). Which allows you to add different ideas to different boards.

One thing I hope you take from this blog is that you need Pinterest as a creative organized person. (if you do, add me @prettiflo)
